Sol-A-Ki--3

shepherd2 2009. 2. 7. 23:04

Part 3.

Thus our friendship deepened day  by day

into something concrete,

A month after our first encounter, Sol-A-Ki

went to her home town to consult with her parents

about entering a university.

I had to spend the day without Sol-A-Ki.

How tedious and lifeless the day was!

But I managed... reading her letters which came to me

every day. All the letters were full of glorious words

for my condition.

At last she came back to Seoul with wanderful presents for me:

A pair of walnuts, three photos, and her school Alumni bulletin.

I was surprised to receive them in the respect that

they contained significant meaning though it was not so expensive.

With walnuts man makes noise by rubbing them in his hand.

Can I hold her with my hand?

Photos, one was a crate devisite of Sol-A-Ki. and

others was taken at school when she was learning

how to make a traditional Korean bow.

And alumni bullitin I found a metaphysical love poem by her.

It was written in a way of speech as intimate as conversation

contray to prim tradition and ormate prettimate of poetry.

If I can select a poem similar to Sol-A-Ki's out of

English poetry, I will take Jone Danne's "Sweetest Love,

I would not go".
